FASHION AND APPAREL INDUSTRY –I

The course aims to develop the students’ knowledge of the fashion design process, from conceptualization to execution, and the application of design principles and techniques in the industry. Project – Knitwear Design Industry

PATTERN MAKING AND GARMENT CONSTRUCTION FOR MEN

Students will learn advanced techniques of pattern making, draping, and grading, as well as how to create and construct men’s garments, including jackets, trousers and shirts.

TEXTILES IN FASHION INDUSTRY –I

This course covers the basics of textiles, including the characteristics, properties, and performance of various types of fibers, yarns, and fabrics. It also explores the production processes of textiles, such as spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing.

STUDY OF APPAREL RETAIL INDUSTRY

The objective of the subject is to understand the apparel retail industry structure and its evolution over time and learn about the various channels of retail distribution, including physical stores and online platforms.

WORLD ART AND COSTUME APPRECIATION

This course aims to provide students a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of costume design, cultural significance of clothing, and the relationship between art and fashion.

SEM –IV

FASHION AND APPAREL INDUSTRY –II

The objective of the subject is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the fashion and apparel industry: Students will gain knowledge about the structure, functions, and key players in the fashion and apparel industry. They will understand the various stages of the fashion lifecycle, from design and production to marketing and retail. They will learn how to translate their creative ideas into tangible products that meet market demands and consumer preferences.

DESIGN STUDIO: PRÊT LINE

This subject aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the fashion industry, particularly in the prêt-à-porter segment, and the design process for creating a prêt line and enables students to develop their creativity, visual and design skills, and the ability to translate their ideas into tangible fashion products.

TEXTILES IN FASHION INDUSTRY –II

The subject aims to provide students with an understanding of the role of textiles in the fashion industry. It also includes exploring the different types of fibers, yarns, and fabrics used in fashion, as well as the processes involved in textile production and manufacturing.

STUDY OF APPAREL INDUSTRY (MARKETING)

The subject aims to equip students with knowledge and skills related to market research, consumer behaviour, branding, advertising, sales, and distribution in the apparel industry.

INDIAN HISTORY AND ART APPRECIATION

This course aims to introduce students to the major historical events and cultural movements in India and how they have influenced the country’s art and fashion.
